I actually have been a WUS lurker for a while and used information on the forum to help me decide on my two G-shock watches, a GW-5600J And a GW-6900. Other than that I own a Citizen Pro Diver that I absolutely love (apart from the strap, which is abominable). So I have a very modest watch collection, not sure you could even call it a collection really, and am looking to add to it with a fashion watch.

I've never thought highly of gold watches but lately I find myself very attracted to owning one. What I'm wondering is whether there is anything that looks like the Nixon Manual II that isn't in fact a Nixon. I've owned several Nixon watches in the past. No real regrets, they were good watches, however I do believe that they are overpriced for what they are and (knowing what I know now) probably aren't up to much internally. If it was up to me I'd have a Japanese quartz movement and about 100m WR (or over). I'd really like to keep the price below $150 as I'm probably going to wear it at work, which means it's going to take a beating and in a pinch I'd like to be able to wear it in the water if need be. Do any of you fine gentlemen know of anything that could be suitable or should I just get over my Nixon phobia and pony up the $130 reddies or so that it's going to cost to get one new?
